AdColony is now capable of receiving postbacks for post-install events for optimization purposes. Below are postback set up instructions for some of our top integrated tracking partners:
Adjust
Each post-install action has a different endpoint in the Adjust system that matches what is set up during your SDK integration.
To set up a post-install event in the Adjust UI:
- Navigate to the Events screen of your dashboard.
- Create a new event that corresponds to the post-install event you would like to track:
Click here to view all supported post-install events
- The event will generate a six-character token.
- Send your Adjust tracker URL and the list of event tokens to Adcolony, letting us know which token maps to which event.
- AdColony will use these tokens to generate the click-through URL for your post-install event.
AppsFlyer
Each post-install action has a different endpoint in the Appsflyer system that matches what is set up at the time of SDK integration. To set up a post-install event in the Appsflyer UI:
- In the left-hand side navigation under Related Pages, click on Media Source Configuration.
- Search and select the AdColony Integration, where you will configure the Post-Install Events.
- On the popup screen, enter the Campaign and enable Integration Parameters.
- Select the In App Events tab.
- In the “In App Events Mappings” section, under SDK Event, select the event that is integrated in your SDK that you would like to track.
- In the “In App Events Mappings” section, under AdColony PIE Integration Event Tag, select the name of the AdColony event corresponding to the SDK event you are tracking.
- To pass revenue values back to AdColony (for transaction events), select the box labeled “Send Value”.
- Repeat steps 5-6 for each event you would like to track.
- Click “Save & Close”.
Apsalar
Each post-install action has a different endpoint in the Apsalar system that matches what is set up at the time of SDK integration.
To set up a post-install event in the Apsalar UI:
- Navigate to the Attribution Tracking → Postback URLs tab.
- Click the “Create a New Postback” button.
- From the Postback Recipient dropdown box, select AdColony.
- From the Application dropdown box, select the app for which you’d like to send post-install data for.
- From the Event Type dropdown, select the button next to “Custom Event” and select the name of the SDK event you are tracking.
- For Postback Status, select the button next to ‘Active’, which will immediately begin sending data for the specified endpoint once it has been created.
- For Attribution Rules, choose to send all events from all sources for the selected event.
Note: This will pass all post-install events to AdColony, however, Apsalar postbacks are set up to pass a flag (adc_conversion parameter) letting AdColony know which events are tied to an attributed install and which events to disregard. Receiving all event data allows us to blacklist and be more cost-efficient about ad serving and optimization. - In the Preview section under “Event Name”, enter the exact name of the AdColony endpoint corresponding to the post-install event you would like to track.
Click here to view all supported post-install events - Click the Create Postback button in the bottom right to save your new postback, which will now be visible in the Postback URLs table on your Attribution Tracking page.
Kochava
Each post-install action has a different endpoint in the Kochava system that matches what is set up at the time of SDK integration.
To set up a post-install event in the Kochava UI:
- Navigate to the Configuration → Event Postbacks tab.
- Click on the “New Postback” button.
- On the popup screen, enter:
- The name of the AdColony Endpoint corresponding to the post-install event you would like to track.
Click here to view all supported post-install events - Your API key provided by AdColony.
- The Product ID of your app (9-digit iTunes app ID or Google Play bundle ID).
- Under Attribution Matching, ensure “All Events” is selected.
- Under Event Matching, select the SDK event that corresponds to the post-install event you would like to track.
- The name of the AdColony Endpoint corresponding to the post-install event you would like to track.
- Click “Save & Close”.
Tune
Each post-install action has a postback template that simplifies the generation of the proper postback URL.
To set up a post-install event in the Tune/MAT UI:
- In the left-hand side navigation under the Partners section, click Postback URLs.
- In the upper-right corner of the Postback URL page click “Add Postback URL”.
- Name your postback URL:
- Under “Advertising Partner Postback Template”, select AdColony:
- From the drop-down lists that appear on the right-hand side, select the Platform and Postback Template that you would like to track:
- In the Postback Requirements section, select the Mobile App and the SDK Event that will correspond to the post-install event you are setting up.
Note: Deselect the box “Only send data attributed to AdColony” so that AdColony will receive all post-install events. Tune postbacks will pass a flag letting AdColony know which post-install events are tied to an attributed install. Receiving all event data allows us to blacklist and be more cost-efficient about the ad serving. - Once you click “Save”, it may take up to 10 minutes for the postback to become active.
